Lately, my xbox dashboard says "play dvd" instead of play "game" as soon as I hit the power button! I have to eject it, close tray, and allow it to read the disc before it will launch. Usually the second or third "ejection" finally nails it.
I tried wiping it down/cleaning the disc, but to no avail. Sure enough the next sit-down I have with my xbox is says "play dvd" and I have to repeat the above process again. Can this be because I leave the disc in the console when powering off? I have no problems with other titles in my library, say halo reach for example, works just fine. But I needless to say prefer black ops in which I've been getting this issue recently.
Does this mean I need a new disc? Or a new "lens" part for the console? Or worse yet, a new console all together? I tried 1-800 4 my xbox, but they didn't provide any "effective" solutions for this. Sure they said "you can wipe this" and "you can clean that", but I'm well past that due to the fact that it didn't solve anything. So am I stuck having to do the "three" consecutive ejections to be able to finally read the disc or what? I'm left thinking "what the damn it" over here! (for lack of more vulgar words)
