I have been perusing the posts for the dreaded "connection interrupted" fix and cannot seem to find any info that will allow me to resolve the connection issue. I bought the game a little over a week ago, played through the story mode and was getting into the multiplayer (yes, NOOB - actually this is my first FPS game and YES i suck....horribly) until this "connection interrupted" business started. It was bad Saturday, but playable could get maybe 2 games in before i would get the message then got extremely frustrating last night and now again today after work its even worse....every game i go into i get the connection interrupted message. Background on me, i have a computer science degree and work for an ISP.
1 - I've read it's ISP related (As I said I work for an ISP and can monitor my modem and our network etc from the office and home and the modem or our service does not appear to be the issue.
2 - I've read it's router setup related (I've got a WRT54G wireless router, newest firmware, router is setup to specs per the website, all the ports are forwarded to the static ip setup on the 360, i am on a wired connection, i am the only one that is using my connection and I have been messing with the MTU size and nothing seems to resolve the connection issue)
3 - I've read it's host related (im not sure about this one, does this mean that another player elsewhere is actually hosting the game and other players in that multiplayer game are at the mercy of the host....as in if the host has a bad connection and drops so does everyone else)
I've read threatening posts to Treyarch, to go to a different series which isn't going to help....you'll buy the next COD
After all they have our money, why should they do anything about it.
I would however think that if there are enough people having issues, someone somewhere would have an answer. It's extremely frustrating and all i want to know is HOW DO I FIX IT, or is it something that i cannot control?
Can someone assist me in my quest to play COD Black Ops without continuing to see the same error message? I was really starting to get into the FPS games and i'd hate for this to be my last.....
Thanks in advance.
