Havn't made a thread in a while due to.. not using my computer monitor because I'm playing Black Ops on it . Since I actually read the forums a lot but rarely post, I figured I would make a thread dedicated to helping out the people who still can't seem to get that edge over the people they play against.
1) Turn your sensitivity down (and practice aiming). I used to see a lot of help threads \ people commentating on videos telling players to turn their sensitivity up. I call BS xD. The highest sensitivity that I've ever even seen anyone (who plays well or competitively) use is 6, and that is a big stretch. I use 4, and most of the people in my team use 3 or 4. Having a 'slow' and methodical aim will allow you to easily destroy people on your longshots and across-the-map shots, and then with practice you can get used to turning on people up close.
2) Know when to hip-fire. If someone is right in front of you, just spray him down. That extra second raising your gun up will lose you a lot of gunfights.
3) Don't listen to crybabies. If someone is harassing you because you're trying hard and using a famas, don't try to one-up them by taking out your Dragonuv Acog and landing a double ladder fakie quickscope. That makes you a moron :P. 9 out of 10 times someone trolling you in a lobby is only doing it because you killed them. Reload and repeat.
4) Don't use silencers. They reduce damage at medium ranges. When you appear as a red dot on radar, people come to you. Kill them too. See next tip.
5) When you kill someone with an unsilenced weapon, be prepared to check your back. I get most of my large killfeeds by mowing down a few kids with an unsilenced weapon, then turning around and killing the other 2 that come up behind me. If you're playing with a good team, they'll soundwhore your silenced weapon anyway and find you.
6 and 7) Don't rush, and don't camp. Do both. Don't run into the middle of the map and start spinning in circles when you cap a flag shooting in the air, but don't sit there and let your team cap it and wander off. The best strategy is to linger by your objective points, kill the enemy team, and THEN take them. It sounds stupid, but it isn't. Don't try to cap B in domination first, kill the other team that is going to B, then cap it.
8) Stick with a few guns. Granted, using all the different guns in the game is really fun, but you'll increase your accuracy and handling of the weapon if you stick to only using 3 or 4. Doesn't matter what they are.
9) Last number was half a lie. Use these guns: Famas, AuG, Commando, AK74u (or MP5K) with rapid fire. Anything else will still work, but people call them OP for a reason. They're the best guns in the game.
10) When you're shooting someone, continue movie. If you're ADS and loading a kid up with bullets, continue strafing to the left or right. It takes a lot of practice, but it helps.
There's a ton of other things I could bring up, like watch choke points, use frags and not semtex... blah blah blah. But I'm mostly just handing out basic advice that might help. If you have anything to add, please do.
