There are already some posts about military tactics and most of them get slashed because it's just a game or because they use military tactics to defend a certain play style.
Nevertheless real life military tactics are usefull in this game, sure you can't implement them straight away and have to adjust them to the virtual environment, but there are military concepts that can be used in this game, here is a small list. (PS most of them are directed at domination, but can be modified for other game types)
Room clearing
How many times does someone runs blindly into a room which is a known camper spot? We can't do the official room clearing techniques (4 man going in, each clearing a corner) but have the common sense to chuck in a flashbang or concussion grenade before entering the room. Not only does this disable any claymore, it also stuns the enemy (=easy kill)
Screen your advance
Countless players rush to a flag in domination, drop down and then pray the enemey won't shoot them. Why not use that Willy Pete? A smoke grenade can cover a possible route from where the enemy comes (forcing him to storm in blindly) or alternatively, if you don't have WP, use concussion or flash bangs. If there is an enemy coming, you will get a hit marker, its the best warning you can get.
Also if your friends are diving for the flag and you are still too far away, why not chuck that WP? they might benefit from the smoke screen.

You just capped the flag, now you can either head for the closest camping spot or you can charge towards the enemy. Charging will get you killed but it will stall the enemy, allowing other players to take up overwatch positions.
Forlorn Hope (aka last stand)
No not the perk that we all hate, but sometimes it might be worthwhile to make a last stand near the flag you captured. The enemy won't always expect this and you might take one or two of them with you before they can swarm the flag (B -flag on Berlin is a good flag for this tactic)
Obtain air superiority
The US army will never attack unless they have complete control of the skies, the same counts for black ops, you hear a spy-plane or chopper? Pull out the strela and start some duck shooting. At the same time, send out your own air cavalary.
Overwatch
Always try to control the positions from where you have an overwatch position on the flag or routes the enemy might take (aka camping), remember its better to kill the enemy before he reaches the battlefield (aka flags). Alternatively you can use killstreaks like napalm to shield routes or send in RCXD's to harrass the enemy.
Flanking
the enemy has the A flag and everybody is fighting over the uncontrolled B flag. What do you do? Run like an idiot and try to cap B or flank and cap the A flag? Best scenario you cap A and the enemy is suddenly without flags. Worst scenario you get killed but at least one enemy is no longer fighting over B
Strenght in numbers
Trying to cap a flag alone? It takes ages and you are vulnerable. If you spot a single friend capping a flag, go help him. Also if the enemy is camping near a flag, try to cap with multiple players while on flanks the camper. As such the camper will be too busy to notice the attack in the back.
Sure we are no soldiers and are not fighting a real war, but it sometimes helps to think a little bit like a soldier when playing this game.
