But I have a good reason. I don't dashboard to boost my stats, I don't need to, and to be honest, I see stats as the one thing that ruins this game.
I play Domination, mostly Domination, which is an objective based game mode. I am sick and tired of playing with randoms and I am the only one trying to capture/defend flags. I see alot of the people on my team with 20+ kills, chopper gunner used, dogs used, not 1 capture, not even the first one. This really annoys me. I usually play solo during the day as most of my mates don't come online till late at night.
I know some people will say "But they're getting kill streaks to help the team!" Oh yeah great stuff, if it was just one person roaming and racking up kills for kill streaks that help the team, i.e Blackbird, spyplane, and counter splyplane, but that is not the case. I literally just got out of a game before writing this post, where my entire team, bar me, was just boosting their K/D with non helpful killstreaks. I often play with my mic on, and tell the others on my team if I'm capturing an objective or if one is being stolen from us, and no word of a lie, in the match I just got out of, one bloke said;
Him "So?"
Me "Well you are right next to A, why don't you save it and we might be able to pull it back and win?"
Him "I'm not arsed about winning, I'm just killing"
Me "Well I'm host, and I'm dashboarding".
That is the attitude of the players that play Domination, they play it because they can get as many kills as they like, whereas in Team Deathmatch it's a set limit.
At first I didn't dashboard, if I came across campers on my team who were just sitting in some random corner nowhere near any of the objectives I would fire a unsupressed weapon and make sure he got killed, might seem like a childish thing to do, and it probably is, but it's the only way to get through to some people.
But now, as I have noticed that I get host 9/10 of the time, I make sure I say at the start of the round " If you don't play the objective and just camp or just boost your K/D, I'm going to wait till you are on a streak with a chopper gunner or something then I'm going to dashboard, I'm the host." And still my warnings don't seem to bother them.
So what I'm basically saying is, if you are a Domination player who plays solo, and you manage to get host, let your team know what will happen if they are just boosting their K/D's and make no attempt to play the game properly. It might even make a few of them turn to the good side!
EDIT: I in no way condone dashboarding. I am completely against it, and know what it's like to be in a game when somebody else dashboards. The reason of the topic is to bring awareness to what goes on in Objective games, and why alot of us objective players lose so many games. I only dashboard in exceptional circumstances, if one person on my team is just kill whoring and not playing the objective, fine, let him be, there are 5 others that are playing to win. But when the ratio is 5-1 and I'm the one who is going to lose without a fair chance because of selfish players, then I will dashboard. I hate to do it, and I try my best to talk them round to playing the game as it should be played, but most of the time they just give you grief. Why should I suffer a loss so they can have a sky high K/D?
Also there is some child called R4zor 94, who is trolling this thread, so just ignore him and he might slump back under the bridge he crawled from.
Another EDIT: Seems people are divided on the issue, and it seems people just want to use this thread to show off their "e-penis". But in my eyes, all people who leave negative comments are the people who are all for stat padding and using objective modes to boost their k/d. NEWSFLASH k/d means f*ck all, your golden gun just looks like tacky chav bling, your coloured clang tag looks like the scribbles a child and your flashy background won't make you play better. The people who can see the point I am making and have taken the time to not only read the original post, but also the comments which I have taken the time to reply to, and trust me, I read everybodys comments and reply to as many as I can, they are the one's who's opinions matter the most to me. So if you are seeing this thread as somewhere that you can post a "go and die in a bin you Jew", then you are wasting your time, it's already been done.
