Black ops freezing at multiplayer loading screen. Why?

Hi all,



I was wondering if you could help me. I'm having trouble playing black ops online immediately after the ps3 update two or three weeks ago. I've contacted Activision but it seems that they don't know what's causing the problem. When loading multiplayer maps online (single player and zombies works fine) the progress bar stops at about 10-20% and then the ps3 freezes (pressing the ps button does nothing) and I have to press the ps3's power button to turn it off. This happens with all the multiplayer maps.We have a second ps3 and a second copy of the game. The game loads fine on the second ps3 with out any issues..

I have tried:

1) Swapping discs around on both ps3s.

2) Both ps3's are connected to the same network with the same hardware, with the same network settings. Have also tried putting the ps3 in the DMZ (in the router) but it still doesn't load maps.

3) Formatted the ps3

4) Restored the ps3 to factory defaults

5) Using the data transfer facility to copy the working ps3's data to the other ps3

6) Using another players user account on the broken ps3.

7) Using the user account of the broken ps3 on the working ps3 (maps load ok, no problems)



Other games load ok, so I don't think its a problem with the bluray disc drive (as the drive isn't making any unusual sounds). As mentioned above, all campaign maps load ok, its just the multiplayer maps that don't load.



I've now run out of ideas as to how to fix this problem so I was wondering what you would be able to suggest...
